A VPN tunnel for VoIP was discussed in this forum during longer time in connection with the Fritz box

The topic seems to become also slowly current for me. It in the meantime already occurred few times that the Hoster of in D, where my Asterisk is installed the no more was here temporarily apparent more vServer genehm. In the sense of a preventing emergency planning I made myself on the search as I mean ATA with the Asterisk via VPN to connect could. The Internet entrance is made with me by a ZyXEL P-661HW-D1. At it a SPA3102 is attached, which is more vServer connected with the Asterisk on. My considerations went connecting the ATA into the direction via VPN tunnel with the Asterisk, this possibly. only partial up to a VPN server of a Internet Providers. The ATA does not offer a possibility a VPN to configure, to that ZyXEL routing however has this for IPsec minutes. Apparent this minutes are however the straight “wrong”, i.e. one, which the various Internet Provider for the “domestic purposes” does not use.

Does someone have an idea as I between ZyXEL routing and Asterisk (or a server in Europe) a VPN tunnel to perhaps furnish here could?
In the meantime I experienced that individual Provider of VPN tunnel with the L2TP/IPsec-Protokoll offers. White someone of you, whether I with ZyXEL routing, for whom is apparent intended excluding IPsec minutes, it could also for the L2TP/IPsec-Protokoll use?
