since I must telephone to next month as favorably as possible for 6 weeks vocationally into the USA and from there out to Germany would like, I made the following:

- in Germany I have a 1&1 16,000 Flatrate, to it the 7270 and altogether 4 Internet call numbers by 1und1 to be made available.

- Into the USA I will carry my Notebook, in addition a USB telephone forward of Sipgate and use the software “Softphone” of 1und1.

Into this software I registered the user data from one the VoIP call numbers with 1und1 and removed these from the Fritz box. Afterwards times tries to telephone with the Notebook from different locations (with the work, a friend, mean parents). Functions! The costs are found and as “free units” are specified, speak there in of the Flatrate result no further costs. As soon as the Notebook thus an Internet connection can announce itself the Softphone directly at the 1&1 server and use the Flatrate without thereby in any way of my telephone connection or the Fritz box with me at home to be dependent.

Up to then everything is good, which should function then also from the USA just as problem-free as soon as an Internet connection exists. Now only the question is whether someone experience with the language quality has. So far I always connected myself from Germany with the 1&1 server and to Germany telephoned. As it will however be, if I connect myself from the USA with the server and anch to D. telephone? Thus I do not speak now naturally of the fact that in the USA a 56K modem is located We say a maximum speed of 150k/bit times there are made available. Over within D. from A to B to telephone that is enough well, but as it is from the USA to D.? Over experiences I would be very grateful! (Inevitably 1und1 etc. does not have in the constellation with Softphone. its, VoIP would generally be already interesting)

Use from the USA to D also more frequently. To determine no difference. Quality is the same as with local and long-distance calls within D.

Due to the fact that my better half is US American, I could which the VoIP telephone from the USA direction Germany concern experiences to collect.

Unfortunately I cannot report anything to you on the 1&1 Softphone, since there is of it no version for the MAC. On ours (homeland) - attendance always carry forward we handy 12 " PowerBook the G4 of my wife. Whereupon I installed the Freeware X-Lite.
I experimented both with a 1&1 VoIP number and with one of VoIPCheap. With the 1&1 number I had only moderate success. The connection establishment has always folded however was always VERY one-sided the discussion thereafter. The clay/tone was transferred thus in each case into a direction. (A here often treated topic is… references: Haven; UDP; TCP; STUN server. .u.s.w.)
Since I did not want to turn a WLAN routing of my parents-in-law concerning haven releases on left, I had mine VoIPCheap account also still tried out…. and see thereby go there it in the best way. (VoIPCheap to Germany costs 0 and 1 cent/min between)
The language quality was always outstanding both with my parents-in-law (AT&T DSL with 1,5 MBit. .siehe screen in the appendix) and with acquaintance with Cable Internet (something > 10 Mbit in any case sow-fast)
