Short understanding question:

does echo cancel make sense with SIP/SIP? After my understanding it is intended for ISDNbridged. Or?
that is not connected nevertheless with minutes, echo cancel serves nevertheless for the suppression of feedback effects, if one uses cheap telephones, with which the language from the loudspeaker to the microphone “pierces”. that is a problem with all full-duplex audio connections.

Thanks. Does ' s give in addition parameters? I search already for hours doc in addition, find however nothing. That cannot be nevertheless simply echocancel=yes?
as far as I know, this is the only one, since sip channel in asterisk the inserted software echo more canceller uses, and this actually is rather stupid. a large disadvantage of this parameter seems to be however IMHO that asterisk rtp stream then always over this echo more canceller channels, which equals a transcodierung at least with weak asterisk hardware should one echo cancel off therefore switch.

I mean personal to the fact that someone has the one terminal used, who produce echo also none quite on good language quality. as said, is my personal opinion…

Echo cancellation is actually only meaningful at the two ends of a discussion, and therefore as well as all SIP terminals bring along their own echo killing; Asterisk sits with SIP ton SIP in all rule in between and does not have to worry therefore not about this task.

In case of of SIP ton ISDN (the transition of a technology to another with that usually no echo to thus suppress know the terminals) is it possibly. to begin recommended a ISDN map with echo killing - or this evenly the map driver and the CCU to up necks.

Finally: The audible echo is always the which the other side produced. If thus one of 2 participants a “bad” SIP has terminal, then the other one has under it to suffer, not it. There are to notice by the way - one may hardly believe it - also bad headsets with yours a cross modulation is.
