Hello,

one knows Asterisk, e.g. in sip.conf, communicate under which DNS names, e.g. abc.dyndns.org, which is to be found Client? The question gegoogelt, but nothing found.

Background of the question is that the Clients connecten by DSL with welchselnden IP addresses (abc.dyndns.org), and some time lasts it in each case, until that the Client is again again at the Asterisk with the new IP address registered. To that extent it would be nevertheless completely interesting, even if the Asterisk knows due to the DNS address of the Clients, where the packages are to be sent.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Guido
Two possibilities:

It is open you naturally, in sip.conf instead of “host=dynamic” “host=…” (or “defaultip=….to use”). I would advise against however, since also the name server hangs, on the Asterisk as Client, caching a server will be. It will be not directly controllable thus also and straight here for you, how long the Asterisk with outdated Cache entries has to fight.

The more elegant variant is and remains probably second: To adjust into the SIP Clients a low validity span, e.g. 300 seconds or sowas, if need be 180. In this case one kriegt also briskly also, if Clients of unplanned way go completely to off-lines. In particular “qualify=” offers itself there as a check, and one keeps prettily the overview.
Thanks for the fast answer!
