Hello together!
I look for a solution with which I mean conventional telephone system by VoIP replace can. The goal is to be that detailed discussions are passed on out of the fixed net on the server to go and from there to the appropriate Client. If the Client is not switched on, discussions are to be rerouted auf's mobile phone. At the Client it should be possible from Outlook contacts to call directly.

Goes sowas? The server runs under Windows 2003 Small Business server and has 3 Clients. I made so far still nothing with VoIP. Perhaps someone can say to me whether sowas goes, so that I do not have to search still longer in dark…

Hello Michael,

the most popular and besides free Telephonie server “Asterisk” leaves itself also under Windows to install, the variant is called to “branch wind” it here Linux under Windows emulated (by means of CoLinux) and the whole runs in a normal Windows task (as service, a user does not have to be thus logged in).

I have already times under XP Professor. successfully installed and in enterprise taken, functions outstanding. Still better it would be to be used naturally a Linux computer and the “normal” Asterisk, can also already somewhat an older computer be, the requirements is not particularly high.

As Softphone Clients one could e.g. Eybeam of Xten take, which connecten then to the branch wind server, over these can also a Outlook selection be realized.

By means of branch wind a bypass with Nichterreichbarkeit, occupies etc. to program is uncomplicated. With appropriate hardware (ISDN map) solution can be telephoned also alternatively to make possible, this is however only under Linux with Asterisk possible, not by means of branch wind over ISDN or VoIP around one dropbakes.

And if you want to put yourself at home no old computer, then rent you an inexpensive VServer (however mind.25 GB Traffic should have), or an inexpensive root server, on then the Debian 3,0 or Suse Linux 9,1 is already before-installed and pack then the Asterisk software drauf - voila!
