There are apparent meanwhile more USB Handsets for Skype instead of with drivers for SIP Softphones.

Is driver theAPI for Skype Handsets freely available? And it would not be possible to write a Wrapper API so that SJPhone, X-Lite and cost. with Skype drivers with USB Handsets to work could?
